Here’s what I’m reading this week!
The WWW Wednesday challenge very simply involves answering three questions about your reading.
What are you currently reading?
Redemptor – Jordan Ifueko
Synopsis: For the first time, an Empress Redemptor sits on Aritsar’s throne. To appease the sinister spirits of the dead, Tarisai must now anoint a council of her own, coming into her full power as a Raybearer. She must then descend into the Underworld, a sacrifice to end all future atrocities.
Tarisai is determined to survive. Or at least, that’s what she tells her increasingly distant circle of friends. Months into her shaky reign as empress, child spirits haunt her, demanding that she pay for past sins of the empire.
Finally, after mentioning it on way too many posts and not actually doing it – I’m currently reading this book. I’m enjoying it! I know there are mixed reviews for it (and, to be completely honest, it’s not as gripping as the first), but it’s a solid storyline so far that is fun to read.
What have you recently finished?
The Worst Best Man – Mia Sosa
Synopsis: A wedding planner left at the altar? Yeah, the irony isn’t lost on Carolina Santos, either. But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina’s offered an opportunity that could change her life. There’s just one hitch… she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials.
Marketing expert Max Hartley is determined to make his mark with a coveted hotel client looking to expand its brand. Then he learns he’ll be working with his brother’s whip-smart, stunning-absolutely off-limits-ex-fiancee. And she loathes him.
I found the ending of this book a bit lacklustre, but it was a fun read overall. Not as good as I had expected. I have a longer review here.

The Guest List – Lucy Foley

I’m not usually a thriller reader, and I’ve not read any of this author’s popular books, but I have this one and I figure I’ll give it a go!
